Welcome Warehouse Invites Donations and Volunteers
October 21, 2008
Julie Fletcher of Welcome Warehouse talked about the purpose and needs of Welcome Warehouse today. Welcome Warehouse Inc. is a non-profit organization that was inspired by a school nurse and a clinic aide along with a group of moms who wanted to help families temporarily in need in the Dublin community.
Welcome Warehouse provides a convenient Dublin location where community members can drive up to drop off gently used clothing and household items. Items are personally and confidentially distributed to families in need on a case-by-case basis. They are also involved with Adopt a Family.
We can drop needed items at their current location (6500 Shier-Rings Road, Unit O) on the first and third Saturdays of the month between the hours of between the hours of 9 and 11 A.M. Receipts. Check the Welcome Warehouse website at http://www.welcomewarehouse.org for items they will accept and for their move to new location happening in January 2009.
Julie mentioned the need for volunteers in many capacities:
- Pickup truck owners who can pickup large items like furniture and mattresses
- Drivers to pickup other items
- Assistance during the times the Warehouse is open to the public
- Volunteers and vehicles to help with their move in January
If you would like to volunteer email Volunteers@welcomewarehouse.org

After the Dublin Parents of Black Students Association, sponsored a family, I decided to volunteer to help with deliveries on Saturday. I delivered to 5 families on Saturday. What a blessing! All homes had someone there to greet me, they were very happy to see me and very grateful for the generosity shown by the Dublin community.
Thank you for the lovely xmas blessing that I received just being a small part of what you do for our community. God Bless. Merry Christmas.
