Kindra is reruiting us to Bowl! We will be organizing a team to bowl against the Dublin Kiwanis (the Frog Jump folks). Bowl for Kids Sake will be at the Columbus Bowling Palace on February 7, 2009 from 8-5. It is the 26th year for this event and there will be 2,500 people participating and an estimated 7000 donors. It provides 10% of Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) annual budget.
Team members will ask friends and family to donate online to sponsor them. It’s all automated and very easy. Beside cash donations BBBS will be accepting in-kind donations. Our own Gary McNutt is very excited about this – he’s the BBBS chairman for this event.
Kindra also talked about Project Mentor. The goal of this project is to increase graduation rates in area high schools. The commitment is 1 hour per week at lunchtime.
