Visit from Wildlife Friends

came with two friends and talked about the work the Wildlife Center does rescuing injured and orphaned animals. 
The first friend was a Kestrel named Blue who seemed somewhat 
suspicious of the photographer.

Leadership Dublin – Would You Like to be a Leader?

talked about the opportunities available to those who participate in Leadership Dublin. Several of our members have already completed their program and Betty Clark is in the current class.
 
When Leadership Dublin was launched in 1995, our community began a new era of leadership development and citizen empowerment. Kiwanis Listeners
The Leadership Dublin program is designed to increase skills and knowledge in community leadership. Individuals participate in a nine-month learning program unique to Dublin.

Big Brothers Big Sisters – Bowl For Kids Sake

Kindra is reruiting us to Bowl! We will be organizing a team to bowl against the Dublin Kiwanis (the Frog Jump folks).  Bowl for Kids Sake will be at the Columbus Bowling Palace on February 7, 2009 from 8-5.  It is the 26th year for this event and there will be 2,500 people participating and an estimated 7000 donors. It provides 10% of Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) annual budget. (more…)

Welcome Warehouse Invites Donations and Volunteers

Julie Fletcher of Welcome Warehouse talked about the purpose and needs of Welcome Warehouse today.  Welcome Warehouse Inc.  is a non-profit organization that was inspired by a school nurse and a clinic aide along with a group of moms who wanted to help families temporarily in need in the Dublin community.

Welcome Warehouse provides a convenient Dublin location where community members can drive up to drop off gently used clothing and household items. Items are personally and confidentially distributed to families in need on a case-by-case basis. They are also involved with Adopt a Family.

The Neil Kennedy Recovery Center – Understanding the Purpose

We heard from Gary Rossner and Ed O’Reilly of the Neil Kennedy Recovery Center in Dublin (left with Kiwanis President Dave Sutherland). 

The Neil Kennedy Recovery Center offers a uniquely diverse and comprehensive continuum of treatment programs, which allows it to tailor treatment to the individual needs of each patient.

Treatment is designed to be gender and culturally specific and to take into consideration co-occurring diagnosis, drug of choice and history of relapse

Miracle League of Central Ohio – Creating Chances for Special Kids
